Try this Baz,..Attach an ohmmeter to the thermistor wires. You can pick up inexpensive ohmmeters at most hardware stores. Either of the ohmmeter's two connections can be attached to either of the thermistor's two connections.6Ohmmeters measure resistance; multi-meters may measure voltage, resistance and current. Use the portion of the dial marked for resistance (it will most likely have an omega symbol to denote ohms). Turn the dial until it shows the scale that gives the largest number of significant digits.7Check the ohmmeter screen for measured resistance. Compare to the given range for that particular model of fridge.8If the thermistor measures in the specified range, it is not faulty and the problem lies elsewhere. If it does not, it is time to replace the thermistor.

Its a good place to start.

What number Thetford fridge have you got Baza.?

Ours was the N180 and we tried 3 Thermistors before replacing it last year with a Dometic.  Our one was repaired under warranty but it still caused us problems so it was either changing the fridge/freezer or another van.

All I can find about this is...
[url=Thats a Norcold compact%C2%A0fridge. The most likley problem would be the thermister. Need to do an ohms reading. From inside of the fridge remone the thermister from the fins and unplug the wires. With a VOM set it on Ohms, touch the wires with the probes/ does not matter which probe to wire/ hold the bulb end of the thermister between your fingers, your reading should stat at about 7000 Ohms. Stick the bulb end of the thermister in a glass of ice water, reading should start climbing and go to about 22000 Ohms. If this happens the thermister is good and you need to look elsewhere. If it does not test out you need to replace the thermister. The thermister is a thermostat that controls the heat source that makes the fridge cool. If the thermister reads good you may want to get the circuit board tested.]Thats a Norcold compact fridge. The most likley problem would be the thermister. Need to do an ohms reading.
