solar panel regulator wiring

Post by whistlinggypsy on Mon 20 Jul 2015 - 13:22

This is a picture below of the connections made to my solar panel regulator, the battery went down to 11,9v on the 1st day at Bridlington (even after 13hrs of bright sun) and would not recover above 12.6v to whole time we were there, thankfully Debbie had a look for me and she found what was probably the cause, the appalling way that Elddis factory fitted solar panel had been wired up, if this is the way their staff consider a job done well I think the management should seriously look at getting rid of them and employing proper staff that have some kind of knowledge and skill to do the work to a higher standard.

Thanks Debbie you did a great job, but then I would expect nothing else from you as your knowledge is far above the people that are SUPPOSE to know what they doing, see you at Marbury Park.

I will be contacting Elddis as soon as I get a contact name for the right person to rollick and I want the whole system checked out fully at their expense.

The solar panel was wired up incorrectly on my present motorhome by Tyne Valley Motorhomes.  I thought long and hard whether I should tell them and when I did they no longer spoke to me!  Says it all really. But who wants incompetent electricians even touching their motorhome/caravan wiring.
