| Couldn't find anything after searching... can you help?
I've just acquired one of these newfangled 'phones, is there a recommended sim for France or will a UK one be as cheap?

| I've always used the French PAYG 'Orange' for phone and internet (with Domino). Found both very good but phone credit top up expires after 1 week and SIM expired after 6+ months of non use.
I'd be keen to hear about how reliable the UK '3' internet coverage is in Europe.
Had a Vodaphone PAYG dongle for Spain and Portugal last year and the SIMs for each country worked in the same dongle. May look at using Vodaphone in Italy and France too.

| Interesting stuff! I have a dual sim 'phone so I'll see if I can make any sense of a French payg ... Meantime, I now have a free '3' sim up and working, I'll put the 30 day 'add' on the day before I leave. Thanks for the help in choosing from a confusing array of providers and their packages! Just need to learn how to use the newfangled 3G phone | |

| I am using a Three sim card in my mifi which I activated before I came over to France last week. So far I have had very good internet but so far I have only gone as far as Normandy, we are moving deeper into France over the next few weeks so will let you know what the signal is like then. | |

| i use a 3 sim and last year went down as far as Charleville- Mezieries /Montherme before heading to Belgium and Luxemburg and it performed as well as in the UK if not better. I have been with 3 for years and have today renewed my contract as i ran out of data in Scotland sending pics back to Facebook (1gig a month £8.50) New contract is 1 gig @ £5.49 and have bought a prepay sim as a standby for £10.49. (lasts a month but doesnt start until you first use it). Dont forget to check which countries it covers :- Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Macau, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, USA. | |

| Back from France, the best trip since I've been on me own! Thanks once again for the help and advice, the '3' payg package was more than adequate, didn't really need the 25GB 'cos most sites had 'weefee' (...and I still have some freebie data allowance form topping up!) Off back again in August ... hard life init | |
